In the grid interactive rooftop or small SPV systems, the DC power generated from SPV panel is converted to AC power using power conditioning unit and is fed to the grid.
The generated power during the daytime can be utilized fully by powering captive loads and excess power can be fed to the grid if grid is available. In cases where Solar Power is not sufficient due to cloud cover or during the night hours, the captive loads are served by drawing power from the grid. The grid interactive roof top solar system can work on a net metering basis wherein the beneficiary pays to the utility on net meter reading basis only.
The quantity of the Energy so generated by each individual household or industrial Building or commercial building or any other type of building can be used to partly fulfil the requirement of the building occupants and surplus, if any, can be fed into the grid. The distribution companies will allow power to feed into the grid and extend net metering facilities to the consumers.
Advantages:
Examples and ROI:
For domèstic consumers by setting up 3 Kwp Solar Power Generator on their roof tops, the Return on Investment would be of the order of 3 to 3.2 years by availing the subsidy provided under PM Surya Ghar Scheme currently in operation. For Commercial and Industrial Consumers, the ROI would be of the order of 3 – 4 years depending on the capacity of the Installation.
The proposed system is in series and parallel combination of multi crystalline silicon solar cells, individual SPV module rating is 600 Wp + modules to make up 108 KWp/200 KWp at Gunturu and Nizamabad respectively. The modules so selected are from reputed manufacturers that meet the stringent requirement as per IEC, UL and TUV standards.
Solar On-grid string inverters with MPPT technology are qualified as per applicable national & international standards and the requirements of MNRE. The Solar Inverters, so selected are from reputed manufacturers that meet the stringent requirement as per IEC, UL and TUV standards.
C. Solar Hybrid Inverter:
Solar On-grid Hybrid Inverter with MPPT technology are qualified as per applicable national & international standards and the requirements of MNRE. The Solar Hybrid Inverters, so selected are from reputed manufacturers that meet the stringent requirement as per IEC, UL and TUV standards. Low maintenance, deep discharge batteries coupled with Solar Hybrid Inverters Store the energy generated through Solar and support the critical loads in the absence of the grid supply provided by SEB.
